I also have been on a weight loss journey!!! Great job for getting focused and establishing goals! I began the South Beach Diet on April 29th which helped tremendously, and I was using WII Fit during that time. In early June I decided to purchase WII Active. WII Active is a much more trainer-style program. I began with the 30-day challenge at easy and some days really kicked it for me. On others it was a milder workout which gave my body time to recover. The first time around, I did as designed and did 2 days on, 1 day off. I completed the 30-day challenge and really enjoyed the variety and different muscle groups that were targeted. The second run of 30-day challenge, I chose to up the intensity to moderate. That worked great too, and increased reps.

At this point, I repeat the 30-day challenge on moderate intensity, and work out every other morning. I also realized early on that for me, the resistance bands were not sufficient. I purchased a cheap pair of them made by "The Biggest Loser". It is a little tougher with the remotes but offers greater resistance.

I've also developed enough stamina now that I put on WII Fit after I've finished a workout, and do an Island Run or two to end things. This has increased my aerobic time.

So all in all, you are able to customize a lot and the 30-day challenge keeps things interesting. It can definitely do the job of working you out, making you sweat, and providing a feeling of accomplishment.

As of today with the coupling of workout and eating a better diet, I've lost 34 pounds in 5 1/2 months. It definitely works. Good luck with whatever you decide!!!!! Good for you in taking the initiative and enjoy your new little one!!!!

Well... if you already own a Nintendo Wii system, then I say YES... it's worth getting. (And, yes, it probably offers a better workout than Wii-Fit)

But, if you don't already own the Wii system, you would have to buy the system for 200 bucks and the Wii Active workout game for another 50-60 bucks... That money would probably be better spent on the gym membership.
